Two day Introduction to stone carving course
Suitable for complete beginners, on this course you will learn all the traditional stone carving skills to enable you to create a beautifully crafted stone carving to take home. Miranda will give step by step guidance and individual tuition throughout. There are a selection of designs to choose from to get you started (examples shown in images)

Our weekly class is held at Chillington Hall on Thursday mornings. All photos in slide gallery are of student's work, none had previous experience before joining the class.
​
Carvers follow a series of suggested topics which introduce new skills and techniques. Projects focus on skills such as visualising 3D form; relief creation; figurative realism; direct carving and working from a maquette. Own projects can be followed if preferred.
Everyone works at their own pace with individual tuition. This is a very sociable group who work outside whenever possible.
Sessions run 10am - 1pm. All stone and use of basic tools are included. Please contact us for more information.
