Join Amerton Art Studio in the beautiful surroundings of Little-Moreton-Hall on Wednesday June 5th. The one day course will focus on the traditional techniques of turning a bowl from green wood using a pole lathe. Students will be shown how to select and split the wood using a tool called a froe, then process it using an Axe. Step by step instruction will be provided on correct hook chisel selection and technique to turn the inside and outside of the bowl. The pole lathes are pedal operated which gives you a wonderful connection with the rhythm of wood removal.
The course is suitable for both total beginners and more experienced individuals who want to refine their craft.
The day runs from 11.00am-5.00pm and light refreshments will be provided throughout and are included in the price, a packed lunch is recommended or a café is available on site for lunch
All materials tools and equipment will be provided within the price.
