All courses run from 10am -4pm and are taught by Miranda, a professional sculptor and tutor with over 20 years experience.  All materials, use of tools and firing of work is included in the price.

Moon Gazing Hare

Animal sculpture £70

One day courses run at Amerton Studio and Chillington Hall where, with step-by-step guidance you can create your own unique ceramic animal (moon gazing hare, majestic Egyptian cat or wise barn owl).

 

You may take your work home at the end of the day or leave it to be fired and collect at a later date.  

 Portrait sculpture

 - Introduction to portrait sculpture £70

This one day courses introduces the key aspects of sculpting a portrait giving you the basic skills needed to create a portrait in clay.  We will cover the practicalities of working with clay, the principles of proportion and anatomy plus the fundamental skills of clay modelling.

  - Two day portrait sculpture £120

This day course covers the skills above plus time to consider details and surface forms.

Weekly classes

Hand build unique sculptural forms or create lifelike animal or human figures in clay.

 

This 3 hour weekly class explores a variety of techniques and themes which can be adapted to personal interests - recreate a family portrait in clay, design a feature for your garden or green man for your front wall. Everyone works at their own pace with individual tuition, beginners are very welcome.

Clay is available at cost and work is fired on site. Join at any time within the term.
